Polkaswap Ecosystem Updates #73, December 15, 2023
Discover the latest features and improvements from Polkaswap ecosystem updates.
As 2023 draws to a close, we’re delighted to bring you Polkaswap’s latest developments. Our shared journey this year has been nothing short of extraordinary!
First, let’s talk about the big news: the SORA Polkadot Parachain Crowdloan. It’s in full swing from September 23, 2023, to January 10, 2024 and beyond. The focus lies on securing a spot in the Polkadot relay chain and putting the DOT in Polkaswap. Plus, contributors get a neat reward of 0.1337 gr. of Kensetsu Gold for every DOT they chip in.
Now, onto some tech updates. We’ve just rolled out Polkaswap v1.26, and it’s a game-changer focusing on cross-chain compatibility. We’ve upgraded the HASHI bridge and added support for WalletConnect, which should make things smoother for everyone. We’re also working on integrating the Subsquid indexing service and further improving the HASHI bridge Substrate upgrade. Plus, we’re always trying to make the platform more stylish through ease-of-life improvements like bumping up the number of price alerts you can set and making the interface more user-friendly.
And there’s more coming soon! We’re testing XOR native staking UI and are excited about how it will add to your experience on Polkaswap.

Ongoing Developments
As we continue to push the boundaries of DeFi, several notable items are currently in progress:
- Integration of the Subsquid service to Polkaswap — 100% complete
The initial phase of this partnership, which encompasses the setup and validation of data feeds, has been successfully concluded. Moreover, we’ve successfully delivered the backbone for Subsquid. However, we’re investigating some issues with specific blockchain events and preparing the environment for the mainnet. We will let you know when it’s ready for use!
- Development of the HASHI Substrate Bridge — 100% complete
Bring your native KSM from the Kusama relay chain into SORA with style and freedom in Polkaswap!
- WalletConnect integration — 100% complete
WalletConnect is an open-source protocol that enables secure communication between decentralised applications (DApps) and cryptocurrency wallets. It allows users to connect their mobile or desktop wallets to DApps, making the interaction with DeFi platforms, like Polkaswap, seamless and secure.
Users can initiate the WalletConnect connection through the Polkaswap for the HASHI Bridge. Once connected, they can sign bridge transactions, check their balances and bridge history, and interact with the HASHI Bridge directly from their preferred wallet app.
The next step will be to use WalletConnect for SORA accounts as well!
- Implementation of Order Book & limit orders — 75% complete
The development team has successfully finished the development of Order Book & limit orders version #1! It’s already available on test.polkaswap.io 🎉 So, the devs are gathering feedback. The next steps are related to the improvements based on the feedback we have now. If you have any thoughts related to this awesome feature please put your suggestions here.
- Asset owner page — 75% complete
We’ve simplified the asset creation process to make it more user-friendly and intuitive. Asset creators can now quickly issue new tokens with just a few clicks. This streamlines the launch of new tokens on Polkaswap, encouraging innovation and liquidity on the platform.
Asset owners can now mint and burn assets directly from the new Asset Owner page. This feature provides greater control over the token supply, allowing for dynamic adjustments as market conditions change.
We’ve added a range of statistics to help you better understand the performance of your created assets. You can now track critical metrics such as trading volume, liquidity, price history, and user engagement for each asset. These insights will empower you to make informed decisions about your asset strategy (This does not constitute financial advice).
- XOR native staking UI — 60% complete
We are excited to announce the upcoming introduction of native SORA validator staking, seamlessly integrated into the Polkaswap interface. With this feature, users can directly choose and support their preferred SORA validator nodes within Polkaswap.io, resulting in a streamlined and user-friendly experience. Say goodbye to cumbersome tools!
The development process for this exciting feature was completed. The Quality Assurance team has started testing process. The main goal is to deliver this feature into test.polkaswap.io as soon as possible!
Bottom Line
As we conclude this edition of the Polkaswap Ecosystem Updates, we thank the devoted Polkaswap community for their support and enthusiasm! Every step in the DeFi space represents our collective endeavor to challenge limits and drive innovation towards a brighter financial future with style and freedom!
